Bipasha Basu is the latest celebrity to endorse fitness. She’s produced a special training course DVD with celebrity trainer Dianne Panday one that promises to get you fit like your favourite celebrity. Aspirational stuff.
This type of initiative isn’t new; remember Shilpa Shetty’s Yoga sessions? But Bipasha does a fantastic job of compiling a straightforward video guide for staying fit. It’s also great that she manages to convince you to love yourself (namely by keeping your body fit). The DVD comprises two workout courses – beginner and advanced. The beginner’s workout course is more like an initiation in warming up and getting used to exercising. The advanced course is where the routines get challenging and intense. The disc’s special features let you watch these courses with either stock music, created specially for the disc or popular Hindi film tracks in the background. The choice of Bollywood tracks is questionable. Exercising with Beedi jalai le playing in the background can be a bit awkward. The good thing is, the tracks’ selection changes according to routines, so when you’re cooling down, the tempo is slower while during intense workouts the tracks are thumping.
One of the special features is called Celebrity Endorsements. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar praise Bipasha for her fitness mantras. John Abraham aptly sums things up when he says, “We all love ourselves, but we don’t know how to love our self. Bipasha’s DVD shows us the right way.”
It’s fabulous to see a gorgeous Bipasha (wearing the best pink trainers ever) getting you fit with just 20 minutes or so to spare each day. If you plan to pick this one up for Bipasha Basu only, go ahead you’ll get more than you expected. |
